How it all began.
Abby, my inspiration for Give the Dog a Bath, with her first friend Teddy, who crossed the Rainbow bridge in 2015. Abby crossed the rainbow bridge 11/2017 . Our hearts are broken but we find comfort in the hope these two are getting into really huge mud puddles there.
The owner of Give the Dog a Bath, Deborah is a lifetime resident of the Milford community, where she has lived, raised a family, and served her neighbors as a volunteer in various organizations throught the years. She most recently served as a board member and tutor with the Literacy Center of Milford.
"The idea to open Give the Dog a Bath came about when my four legged best bud and travel companion, Abby and I experienced a self-service dog wash during our travels and house hunting trips to MA. After swims at the beach and in the Boston Harbor, we'd drop by a dog wash in the area and a few minutes later, leave looking, smelling and feeling fantastic! A much better experience than struggling to wash her with a hose in the driveway or wrestling to get her into a slippery bath tub. When we decided to stay close to our roots here in Milford, I wanted to bring the same convenience to this area. We went to dog parks and local beaches and saw a need for it. So, in February 2016 Give the Dog a Bath opened."
"At Give the Dog a bath, Dirty Dogs take one step up into a comfortable, immaculate walk around, nonskid tub and experience a spa like bath, like no other. No bending or sliding whatsoever. Our booster seats are all the rage for our little companions too. We are here to assist when needed, espcially for those who are trying it out for the first time. We provide you with everything you need to have a sparkling clean, bright fluffy pup again. With specials and referral programs running all the time, there is even money left over for some doggy ice cream down the road. Don't forget to help yourself to a treat after bath time on your way out. Our spa like atmosphere gives you the opportunity to message the tender areas, brush, pamper, love and bond with your furbaby. After that you'll be snuggling next to a clean, fresh, healthy and happy pup."
