OUR GROOMING POLICIES
Prices are subject to change at the groomer's discretion. At Give the Dog a Bath we believe in gentle grooming. We are kennel-free, so our groomers work one-on-one with your pet in a stress-free and safe environment. Each pet stays with us only for the duration of their grooming, and we serve only a limited amount of pets at a time to ensure a comfortable and caring experience. Scheduling a spa appointment for your dog is a reservation for our groomers' gentle and personalized services. A price range and appointment length can be given based on your pet's size and breed, and we do the best we can to be as accurate over the phone as we can, but until the groomer sees the dog in person there is no way to adequately judge the coat type and condition of the dog.
ALL dogs must be on a leash. Please be respectful of other dogs and pet parents in our spa and boutique. We recommend your companion have a securely fastened collar or harness, and we do request flea collars are removed prior to grooming appointments.
Cancellation Policy/No Call No Shows (NCNS) Policy
If it is necessary to cancel/skip your grooming appointment, we do ask for a 24 hour notice when possible. Early notification allows us to fill empty appointments with call ins or our wait list. Not notifying us causes the groomers to miss out on appointments they could have otherwise filled, and a loss of commission for them. We do understand that unexpected issues can occur without much notice, please notified us ASAP in those cases.
After the first last minute cancellations, a second will result in having to pay a $25 scheduling fee for your next appointment. The $25 will apply towards the groom, however if you cancel again within 24 hours, or NCNS, the deposit is lost.
After the first No Call No Show, if a second one occurs, we will charge a $25 missed appointment fee before allowing for rescheduling. Continued missed appointments may result in us not taking future appointments for your pet.
Late Arrivals / Late Pick-Ups.
We specialize our spa schedule to meet the grooming requirements and comfort of your pet. We may not be able to complete a grooming if you arrive more than 10 minutes late to your scheduled appointment, and we will reschedule late arrival appointments in order to respect the allotted time for our other clients.
When we check-in your pet for their scheduled grooming we will speak with you about an approximate time for pick-up. We will call if we finish your pet before you have arrived for pick-up, or if we estimate your pet's grooming will need more time. Please be courteous to our other clients and be prompt in picking up your dogs. Any dogs left with us for extended periods will have a Dog-sitting fee (More Than 15 minutes late = $15 per 15 minutes) added to their grooming.
Vet information is required at the time of scheduling your appointment, and we require proof of rabies vaccinations (copy of vaccination papers or rabies tag acceptable) for first time visits. All other vaccination protocols are left up to the owner and their veterinarian. We recognize that veterinarian practices consider separately on how often to vaccinate. If you feel secure about your pet's level of protection, so do we.
When a dog presents in a severely matted condition, it is Give the Dog a Bath’s policy to shave the whole coat using electric clippers with a close blade. In these circumstances to de-matt would cause the animal stress and discomfort and therefore shaving a coat is quicker and gentler on the dog. These risks may include and are not limited to nicks, clipper rash, red raw skin, with or without bumps, that may manifest after the dog has been groomed. Dogs can be traumatized by lengthy and uncomfortable de-matting sessions and it can put them off the grooming process for life.

In the event, your dog is heavily matted in certain areas, and you would like us to remove all matting, please refer again to the discomfort noted above. De-matting can be a time consuming process and extra time will be chargeable. You will be fully consulted and made aware of any additional charge to be levied.
Flea / Tick Policy.
Fleas and ticks will NOT be tolerated. Owners are responsible for keeping their pet(s) flea & tick free. If fleas are discovered while my pet is being groomed, Give the Dog a Bath may refuse to groom the pet until my pet is clear of parasites Give the Dog a Bath HAS THE RIGHT TO REFUSE SERVICE.
In the event of a pet we cannot safely handle we reserve the right to refuse service. Tranquilized pets will not be accommodated as they should be done in the safety of an In-House Groomer at a Vet Clinic/Hosp. The use of muzzles, e-collars, slings, straps, etc. are acceptable. Grooming services can be stopped mid-groom if necessary for the safety of either the pet or groomer and grooming charges may apply as applicable.
If a dog NIPS or BARKS incessantly during the grooming process, Give the Dog a Bath reserves the right to use a soft style gentle muzzle on him/her.
There is always the possibility of cuts, nicks, or burns during the grooming process. Some pets are harder to handle than others and accidents can occur. There are also times when mat burns show after they are shaved out. This is not caused by the groomer being careless, but the severity of the mats. We will always do an inspection of your pet upon arrival and in the bathtub. Your groomer will notify you of anything they find during those. Should any cuts occur during the grooming process, we will notify you and advise you on how to treat these. Injuries caused due to the condition of the dog matting is NOT the responsibility of Give the Dog a Bath, LLC dba Give the Dog a Bath Grooming and DIY Dog Wash, and any vet costs due to these are at the expense of the client.
